Course Information – Motorcycle

  • The motorcycle course prepares you for the Dubai RTA Category 1 motorcycle licence.​
  • The minimum age to start the course is 17 years.​
  • Training covers balance, control, braking, turning, and cornering on different road types.​
  • Beginners with no previous bike licence usually need around 20 hours of practical training.​
  • Riders who already hold a valid foreign motorcycle licence may do a shorter course (around 10 hours), depending on RTA rules.​
  • All students must attend around 8 theory lectures on motorcycle basics, traffic signs, risks, rider condition, and safe riding.​
  • To finish the course you must pass internal assessments, the RTA yard test, and the RTA final road test

Requirements (20/10 Hours Students) 8 theory lectures

  • You must complete all required theory lectures before booking tests.​
  • You must pass an internal Initial Riding Assessment with the driving school.​
  • You must pass the RTA Theory (Knowledge) Test for motorcycles.​
  • You must pass the RTA Yard / Parking Test and then the Final Road Test to get your licence.

  • You need a passport copy with valid Dubai residence visa.​
  • You need your original Emirates ID and a copy.​
  • You need 2 passport‑size photographs.​
  • You need an eye‑test report from an RTA‑approved center (often available at driving school branches).​
  • You usually need a No‑Objection Certificate (NOC) from your sponsor or employer, if your visa category requires it.

For students who have a license from their country of origin

  • Original Emirates ID card
  • Eye test report (Eye test can be completed at DDC Head Office / AL Qusais / Al khail /Dip 2)
  • Original home country license
  • Age must be 17 years or over

You may be eligible to transfer your existing driving license, without having to take a driving test, if you have a valid driving license from some countries. The countries whose citizens can transfer their driving licenses are given below

  • License Fee (DDC fee-100.00 RTA fee-320.00) @ Dhs. 420

  • Additional DDC fee of 100/-dhs. for RTA Yard Test and Final Test taken on Saturdays/Sundays/Public Holidays.

  • Additional Smart Monitoring System DDC Fee of 100/-dhs.

  • The applicants are solely responsible for the payment and shall be made directly to DDC.

  • Discount offer for normal course applicants is valid until 1st attempt, till one test attempts each (Theory, Yard, and Assessment & Road Test). Additional road training hours and tests shall be charged at regular rates category wise.

  • RTA learning permit renewal & File renewal charges would be additional.
