Get Your Car Driving License in Dubai

  •  The LMV course is for car or Light Motor Vehicle Category 3 licenses in Dubai.​
  •  You can start the course from 17 years and 6 months of age.​
  •  Training is available on both automatic and manual cars.​
  •  You attend around eight theory classes covering road rules, traffic signs, and safe driving.​
  •  You complete 10 to 20 hours of practical driving lessons, depending on your previous experience.​
  •  You finish the course by passing the RTA theory test, parking test, and final road test.

Course Requirements – LMV

  • You must attend 4 theory lectures that cover traffic rules, road signs, and safe driving basics.​
  • You must pass the Knowledge Test, which is the computer‑based theory exam taken at an RTA test center.​
  • You must pass the Initial Driving Assessment Test (internal) at Dubai Driving Center, where an instructor checks your basic control, parking, and road awareness before booking RTA tests.​
  • You must pass the RTA Final Test, which is the on‑road driving test with an RTA examiner; after passing this test, you receive your light motor vehicle driving license.

Please Note:

  • You must provide your original Emirates ID.​
  • You must provide a copy of your passport with a valid residence visa.​
  • You must take and submit an eye test from an RTA‑approved center.​
  • You may need a no‑objection letter from your sponsor or employer, depending on your visa.​
  • You should bring any existing driving license if you have one.​
  • You should also prepare two to four recent passport‑size photographs.

For students who are Emiratis

  • Original Emirates ID card
  • Eye test report (Eye test can be completed at DDC Head Office / AL Qusais / Al khail / Dip 2)
  • Age must be 20 years or over

For people with visas from other emirates

  • Original Emirates ID card
  • Eye test report (It can be completed at DDC Head Office / Alqusais / Al khail / Dip 2)
  • Trade License copy of the both branches (VISA Holding branch and DUBAI branch and Trade name should be same)
  • NOC Letter from the Dubai Branch (stating applicant working in Dubai branch)
